About this tour
The Levada das 25 Fontes begins at Rabaçal, more precisely on a plateau located in the centre of the island.
We met in the Laurissilva Forest, a World Heritage Site, and started a small descent to the house of Rabaçal. Having said that, we walk towards the Levada das 25 Fontes, where we can observe several plants characteristic of the area, such as Heather, Uveira da Serra, etc.
At the end of the Levada, you can see the 25 (or more) water fountains, which fall over a small and stunning pond that also has many natural greens of plants that grow in these same walls. On our return, we took a short walk to the Risco waterfall viewpoint, where we could rest and take some photos.
After this short break, we can take the trail back to the starting point, Rabaçal.
